10 Next Steps For Brock Lesnar After WWE SummerSlam 2016

6. A Randy Orton Rematch

While Reigns and Rollins may be viable options, perhaps the most obvious rematch for Brock Lesnar at this point is Randy Orton.

That may not sound like it makes much sense, given that Lesnar won their SummerSlam encounter in such convincing fashion, but bear in mind that the final result was a TKO decision. That meant that it was stopped by a combination of the referee’s and the doctor’s orders, rather than those of Orton himself.

So in a way, Orton could certainly make a viable claim to be deserving of one more shot at the Beast. Granted, it would likely be a pretty regrettable claim, but a viable claim nonetheless.

What makes this slightly more appealing than the other options is that it wouldn’t necessarily require a title to be involved, plus in order to avoid a repeat of SummerSlam they’d likely have to add some kind of No Holds Barred or Unsanctioned Street Fight stipulation.

The finish could prove to be a stumbling block. In light of SummerSlam, an Orton victory wouldn’t be believable, and it would be rather difficult for Lesnar to top the trouncing he dished out this past weekend.
