10 Nostalgic WWE Moments That Made Fans Cry

4. WCW Goes Down With Sting And Ric Flair Main Event

The end of WCW was one of the darkest days in the history of pro wrestling. The final episode was broadcast on March 26 2001, with a Sting vs Ric Flair main event. This was poignant for long time WCW fans. Flair vs Sting was featured on the very first Nitro in 1995, now here they were six years later closing out the entire company. There were tears, as WCW fans considered the rich history that Flair and Sting had carved out in WCW. Now all that would potentially be gone, with the WWF gobbling up the company legacy. Sting won that final ever match, before sharing an emotional embrace with Flair in the aftermath. What made it even sadder was that Flair wrestled the bout in a T shirt. Just like the company, Flair had lost his previous reputation. It was a very sad night.
