10 Nostalgic WWE Moments That Made Fans Cry

5. End Of An Era: Triple H, The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels At WrestleMania 28

In what was billed as an "end of an era" match, Triple H battled The Undertaker at WrestleMania 29. Shawn Michaels was the special referee, adding to the intensity of the occasion. It really did feel like three pillars of the WWF coming together. The result was an Undertaker victory. Even though he had ended Shawn Michaels' career two years earlier, HBK did the right thing and counted the 1-2-3 on his friend Triple H. It was a fantastic match. What happened next was a moment of genuine emotion. All three men broke kayfabe and embraced on the top of the stage. The end of the era was signified. Fans around the world cried tears of respect and appreciation, as memories of the great matches the trio had contested came flooding back. In retrospect however, it wasn't really the end of any era. Triple H and The Undertaker went on to wrestle at future Mania shows, with Taker even doing the job to Brock Lesnar at Mania 30. Even Shawn Michaels has got involved with other matches in a non-wrestling capacity. But on the night of April 1 2012, the end of the era felt real. The nostalgia for the trio involved and the era that they built was on everybody's minds.
