10 Notable WWE Releases Who Are Still Available To Be Signed

3. Bronson Reed

This was among the more baffling WWE releases of the last 18 months.

Making his debut in the 2019 NXT Breakout Tournament, Bronson Reed quickly became one of the favorites to, pardon the expression, "take over" the Black and Gold brand whenever the current crop was called to Raw and SmackDown. Following impressive bids for the North American Championship in the six-man ladder match at NXT TakeOver XXX in August 2020 and against then-champion Johnny Gargano at NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver the following April, The Colossal One finally unseated Johnny Wrestling in a Steel Cage match a little over a month later.

Despite an admittedly short run with the title, there appeared to be a silver lining. Between management expressing an interest in getting him in front of a mainstream Raw/SmackDown audience and a mini-feud with Adam Cole on his way out of NXT, everything was coming up Bronson... so we thought.

Instead, Reed became the most prominent name on a list of 13 releases during WWE's most recent round of cuts on 6 August 2021, and there was much head scratching. As his theme song once suggested, he's battle-tested and ready for war. The only thing more baffling than his release is how he hasn't been picked up yet. Everyone wants to make waves wherever they go, but few could produce a Tsunami quite like the big Aussie.
