10 Notable WWE Releases Who Are Still Available To Be Signed
4. Buddy Murphy
What a free agency session it's been for the guy now performing as Buddy Matthews.
The last four months have seen Seth Rollins' former disciple break out of prison (metaphorically speaking), find a LOT of spare time to hit the gym, field invitations from Will Ospreay to join him in New Japan Pro Wrestling and tease an appearance as The Joker in AEW's most recent Casino Ladder Match. Yet despite all the noise, the only thing we know for sure is Buddy Matthews is scheduled for an December independent show in Philadelphia against Malakai Black.
The 'Buddy' moniker is quite apropos, actually. The former Cruiserweight, Raw Tag Team and NXT Tag Team Champion is part of a rare breed who could easily slot into and become an ally and asset to basically any promotion that knows how they want to use him. Since both men are free agents, bringing his former tag partner on board for a Blake and Murphy reunion wouldn't be a terrible idea, either.
During his nearly eight-year run with the company, he was dubbed "WWE's Best Kept Secret". But how much longer will it be before the secret is finally out?
