10 Most Notorious Batista Urban Legends

6. He Has Used Steroids

Story: Batista has one of the most impressive physiques in WWE history. He's listed at 6'6" and 290 pounds although he's more like 6'4" or so. He's one of the most muscular wrestlers in WWE history. By the time he really got famous in WWE, he was in his mid to late 30s. He also had several muscle tear type injuries in his career, so due to all those reasons people often suspected that he was a steroid user. In August of 2007, there was an ESPN report listing names of wrestlers that were clients of Signature Pharmacy in Orlando. The company got busted for filing illegal prescription drugs, which were steroids and other Performance Enhancing Drugs. There were ten wrestlers suspended for it, most of whom were on that list. Batista was also on that list, but he was never suspended. Batista released a statement denying his steroid usage: "I am being tested regularly by the WWE, and I am in full compliance with the WWE Wellness Program. I regret the inaccurate reporting, and I will do all I can in the future to stop any publication or anyone from making such false accusations." The situation raised eyebrows because if WWE suspended other wrestlers, why not him? That's because he was a main event performer and his suspension would have hurt their bottom line. At least that's a way to look at it. Why People Believe It: Look at the man. He's huge. Sometimes the eye test is all you need for people to think something like that is true. Should We Believe It: It's wrong to sit here and make claims about somebody without knowing the facts, but when you look at Batista he's definitely a guy that fits the PED user description. With that said, a lot of pro wrestlers probably use something to make their career more successful. It's not a real sport, though, so if they use something to look better than their job then it's really no different than Sylvester Stallone bulking up for a Rocky film, is it? Batista has probably experimented with steroids at some point in his life, but it's not like his look is totally unbelievable. There are others out there that are more obvious users.
