10 Most Notorious Brock Lesnar Urban Legends

3. He Almost Fought In UFC While Under WWE Contract In 2012

Story: Brock Lesnar vs. Fedor Emelianenko could have been the biggest fight in the history of UFC. According to UFC President Dana White, it nearly happened a few times. He threw all kinds of money at Fedor and they would have had the fight in Cowboys Stadium in Dallas that holds 100,000 people, but they weren't able to get the deal done. In October 2012, while Lesnar was in WWE and had already wrestled twice for WWE in his 2012 return, there was a story that Lesnar was contemplating a UFC return. At the time, White said that Lesnar was "never coming back." In January 2014 while Lesnar was still a huge part of WWE, White said that a Lesnar return was "definitely a possibility." What does it all mean? It means that feelings change over time and that White will say just about anything to get attention. Why People Believe It: Lesnar quit WWE in 2004, so people likely assumed he would do it again. He ended up having a great career before, so why not again? It certainly seemed possible. Should We Believe It: No. It's unlikely that WWE would have allowed him since they had Lesnar under a deal. Maybe he could have tried to quit the company to force his way out, but WWE would have done what they could to stop it because they knew he would have gone straight for UFC again.
