8. He Was Supposed To Feud With The Rock In 2003

He had wrestled as a singles wrestler for about a year before that. In early 2003, he started to get involved in backstage segments with The Rock. The most famous one involved a pep talk by The Rock. This segment was from the April 7, 2003 edition of Raw. Christian asked Rock to sign his Scorpion King DVD and then Rock fired back at him. Rock said that Christian didn't seize the moment. He told him he was a talented cat, but that he didn't take advantage of the opportunities. That segment created a buzz because people felt like it was as if Rock was speaking on behalf of management that wanted Christian to be better at his job. There's no way of knowing for sure.
