His accomplishments by themselves tell us that Baron Corbin has had a pretty successful time of things since making the step up from NXT back in April of last year.

On his first night, in fact, 'The Lone Wolf' scooped the (sort of) prestigious Andre the Giant Memorial trophy after seeing off half the roster in the annual WrestleMania battle royal. He's also won the US Title and the Money in the Bank briefcase.

What this narrative ignores, however, is that during this time he's struggled to convince much of the fanbase (or, apparently, critics) of his worth, either in the ring or on the mic. Simply put, he doesn't look ready for a starring role on SmackDown.

Neither, if we're brutally honest, does he look personally ready for the spotlight. Those summer Twitter spats may not have been the sole reason that his WWE Championship push was put on ice, but they certainly won't have done his image backstage any favours.
