10 NXT Rookies WWE Called Up Too Early

8. Tyler Breeze

Tyler Breeze was involved in one of the all-time great NXT matches alongside contemporaries Sami Zayn and Neville three years ago, but whilst they've gone from strength to strength in the time since, the Canadian now finds himself in a dead-end gimmick.

And, granted: The Fashion Files have had their share of entertaining moments. It's just that comedy acts often find it difficult to get ahead in the unforgiving WWE world (unless their name is Enzo and they behave like a nuisance backstage).

It wasn't as though Breeze hadn't served his apprenticeship either. In fact, he had spent more than five years on the WWE books before finally getting a taste of main roster action with an appearance on Miz TV in October 2015.

But, on the flipside, he was also still pretty young at just 27. There was no need to rush his development, particularly when there were still improvements to be made both in his persona and his ability in the ring. A little patience would have gone a long way here.
