7. Austin Aries

Austin Aries in a WWE ring? Is that even possible? A few years ago you would have guessed not, but the same thought would have applied to A.J. Styles, who is now pushed as one of the top stars in the company. Aries is 38 years old, but he’s still a great performer inside of the ring, and he's also not bad on the mic either.

There’s really no great reason for Aries to be in NXT as it is, as there’s not much left for him to learn. Sure, he can help some of the younger talent get better inside the ring, but he’s too good to be left in developmental. Bring him up to the main roster, and he could have great matches with anyone from Dolph Ziggler to John Cena. If the company doesn’t have long term plans for him, then send him back down after his run and let him work with the youth.

Double A has been one of the best non-WWE wrestlers in the past 15 years, and at least deserves an opportunity on a much bigger stage to show why he’s the Greatest Man Who Ever Lived.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
