10 Obscure WWE Royal Rumble Records

The inspiration for this list came with the realization that Roman Reigns had been involved in the closing moments of a bunch of Royal Rumble matches. But a search of the records revealed he has not been one of the final four participants the most.

WWE tends to make a big deal of the last four wrestlers in the Rumble, often pausing or resetting the action before the go-home sequence. Skimming the lists, at least nine men have made the final four at least five times. Reigns and Kane each have been at the end six times.

But it’s Randy Orton who runs away with this record, being one of the last four men eight times: 2006, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2017, 2020 and 2021. That’s going to be a tough record to top, especially when you consider it’s very possible he adds onto this list. Orton clearly is a top guy in WWE’s eyes, and having him involved in the climax of its signature match so often is just more proof.

It’s worth noting though that Reigns has an interesting distinction, having finished in the final four in five straight years, from 2014-2018, and then again in 2020. If not for missing the 2019 Rumble while battling leukaemia, it’s very possible Roman would have racked off seven straight years.
