10 Observations From Attending EVOLVE 67 Live

3. A Bit Of A Mess

The main event, as advertised, was a six-man tag team match for the EVOLVE Tag Team Titles. Champs Drew Galloway and DUSTIN were joined by Ethan Carter III to take on Catch Point's Fred Yehi, Tracy Williams, and TJP. If Catch Point could win, the two team members of their choosing would get the belts.

The match started abruptly, as Williams ran out to save Drew Gulak from Timothy Thatcher. After that, the three heels attacked Williams and a brawl broke out, which Yehi and TJP joined. Williams ended up getting kayfabe hurt (though he left under his own power), making it a handicap match. Still, Yehi made it clear that Catch Point was still willing to fight, and they were joined by Ethan Page, making it a fair three-on-three contest.

Despite the hot setup, though, the match was a bit of a disappointment. There was some brawling around and in the ring, but that stuff can be hard to follow at an indy show with no screens. There were also no major surprises or storyline developments. After about ten minutes, the heels scored the win, ending an uncharacteristically weak EVOLVE main event.
