10 Observations From Attending WWE Raw Live

6. New Day Rocks

Like many WWE crowds these days, the audience at Barclays Center wasn't particularly energetic. The fans treated Shane McMahon and Undertaker like superstars, hanging on each man's every word, chanting "Holy sh*t" when the two got face to face, and screaming for Shane's elbow drop, but apart from that, they didn't react very well for anybody... except for The New Day. Fans cheered for The New Day throughout the show, and when the WWE Tag Team Champions came out for their segment, the arena went nuts. In an era where inept and anemic creative has rendered most full-time wrestlers completely ineffectual, The New Day have managed to get themselves over and stay over. Turning face didn't ruin them, it only made them more popular - and that's despite the fact that they're feuding with some of the most uninteresting heels on the entire roster. At some point, the company has to realize that The New Day can be more than Tag Team Champions. WWE needs stars, and Kofi Kingston, Big E, and Xavier Woods fit the bill. Perhaps, if Roman Reigns does turn heel, Big E can emerge as a challenger for his title. Maybe someday we can see a reunited Shield versus New Day six-man tag. Either way, WWE needs to push New Day to the moon.
