10 Occupational Gimmicks From WWE's PG Era

10. J & J Security - Security

A bit of an obvious one to start with, but a more than valid one nonetheless. Joey Mercury and Jamie Noble weren't the first wrestlers to perform as an individual's personal security, but they may well have been the most entertaining. Why a professional wrestler would need security is another question for another day however.

The comically undersized Mercury and Noble were a great foil for the often-ultra-serious Authority, and the attention to detail with their gimmick was impressive all the way down to the earpieces.

J & J Security were glorified goons, security guards who plainly weren't providing Seth Rollins with much in the way of protection. They are sorely missed.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
