10 Once Awesome WWE Storylines Which Overstayed Their Welcome
8. Randy Orton Vs Jinder Mahal
It is well known by now that some WWE superstars only work hard when they feel inspired to do so.
A classic example is Hulk Hogan. Triple H and Brock Lesnar are others, as well as Randy Orton. If Orton likes his position on the card, he can produce some of the most engaging wrestling on the planet. But if he doesn't, his matches often turn into slow and 'methodical' as Michael Cole likes to call it.
Orton, quite understandably, was not enthused by losing his WWE Championship to a man who was a jobber mere months before, in Jinder Mahal. While it was cool to see another star get a shot at the gold, nobody wanted to see him win. Then after he did, in quite an underwhelming affair mind you, the company decided to repeat it at the next two Pay-Per-Views.
The feud dragged on with tired story tropes. Jinder playing the whole, India is good, the USA is bad tune was just a little outdated. The feud became so boring that it literally brought back two of the dullest entities in WWE history in the form of the Punjab Prison match and The Great Khali. Thank goodness the company sort of came to their senses and didn't bring back Khali full-time.
