10 One-Off Wrestling Tag Teams We Wanted More Of

5. Booker T & Goldberg

Few other wrestlers encapsulated the WCW brand during the Monday Night Wars' latter stages better than Booker T and Bill Goldberg.

Although he began wrestling well before working for Ted Turner, Booker T became a prominent player as the ninth Triple Crown Champion in WCW, picking up Big Goldie four times along the way. Oh, and who could forget his ten Tag Team Championship reigns alongside Stevie Ray?

Goldberg was a different animal. He didn't come with previous wrestling experience and didn't add many moves to his repertoire over time either. However, WCW still managed to put him over as a squash-match monster, cementing him as its home-grown megastar.

Fans would have salivated over the idea of Booker T and Goldberg teaming up in WCW, but it never happened. Yet it did in WWE.

Booker T and Goldberg joined forces to take on Christan and Chris Jericho on the 16 June 2003 episode of Raw, and despite coming from different backgrounds, the two performers worked fairly snug as a team and gave fans what they wanted, with Booker showing off in the ring a bit and Goldberg hitting his power moves.

In WWE's mind, this tag match was an extension of the WWE-WCW Invasion, although it was two years too late to have the same appeal as it would've in 2001. Regardless, few fans would have rejected the idea of Booker T and Goldberg having a slightly longer run as a duo while revitalizing the tag division in the process.
