Looking back at SummerSlam 2019, you'd think the match card was some kind of WWE 2K game with absurd-sounding bouts like Goldberg taking on Dolph Ziggler of all people. Still, the man who once ruled over WCW Monday Nitro wasn't the only legend to make an appearance at the Big Four event.

To a bit more fanfare, Trish Stratus returned to the ring to face Charlotte Flair (who was just "Charlotte" at the time) in what was truly a generation versus generation throwdown. However, SummerSlam didn't mark the first time the Hall of Famer stepped between the ropes that year.

On the 5 August 2019 episode of Monday Night Raw, Stratus teamed up with Natalya (who faced Becky at the upcoming PPV) to go toe-to-toe with Lynch and Flair. What made the pairing of Stratus and Natayla so special was that both women were cornerstones of their respective eras.

Even though Stratus returned the following year and her 2019 appearance wasn't exactly rare, it was still somewhat surprising WWE didn't try to pocket the PPV-worthy tag team match for one of its major events instead of tossing it away during free TV.
