10 On-Screen WWE Couples That Had No Chemistry

8. Billy Gunn & Torrie Wilson

Despite being one of the most beautiful women ever to grace a WWE ring, Torrie Wilson wasn't exactly Sherri Martel in the charisma ranks. It didn't help that, with the exception of Tajiri, she was consistently paired with some of the least charismatic performers in wrestling at the time.

The most nonsensical of these was her brief alliance with Billy Gunn. Gunn was in full 'Mr. A' mode, a moniker and gimmick (I guess you could say) that didn't exactly have a lot of depth to it. Billy Gunn liked bums, that was about it. Torrie Wilson? Well, she had a fairly pleasing derrière, and that was all the reasons needed to put them together.

It didn't work, and was abandoned fairly soon after. WWE managed to hit some low points during their brief run, with uber-charismatic Jamie Noble winning a night with Torrie after he and Nidia defeated Wilson and Gunn. Yep.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
