Main Event: Sting vs. Lex Luger for WCW World Heavyweight Championship

While this might be considered 1992's version of a "spot fest" by some of today's more cynical wrestling fans, it's widely regarded as one of the greatest matches Jushin Liger ever had in North America, which is about as good as compliments get.

This match for the Light Heavyweight title is a fine representation of the ageless Japanese wrestler's effortless -- but thoroughly compelling -- high-flying style. And Pillman rises up to his level, delivering the high-impact performance of his young career.

Both guys are fired up throughout, hitting dropkicks, moonsaults, sunset flips, and hurricanranas at a then-stunning rate. Considering the maneuvers these guys kept pulling out, the work rate is truly impressive. And nearly every attack is sold like a bomb just went off in someone's stomach.

It's rare to see multiple five-star matches on the same card, so the main event had a huge challenge to overcome. Unfortunately, Lex Luger was on his way out of WCW and seemingly had no desire to put in even his usual C+ effort, leaving Sting to carry the load while Luger spent most of the match walking around with his hands on his hips. It proved to be an impossible task for the Stinger, and sadly, their otherwise excellent rivalry closed out with a whimper instead of a bang.
