The former Alberto del Rio recently made his Ring of Honor debut, and the potential of a match between two former WWE world champions, liberated from the constraints of network television and Vince McMahons creative team, is tantalizing. Not only are Christian and Del Patron ring technicians who could put on a thriller with enough freedom and enough time, they also have a history dating back to 2011, when their WWE feud culminated with Christian defeating Del Patron and winning his first World Heavyweight Championship. This fact alone would make an ROH rematch between the two an exciting prospect and the story of Christians last match could range from mutual respect between a pair of world-travelled veterans to a heel Alberto attempting to end the career of his old enemy once and for all.
