WWE: 10 Opponents For Brock Lesnar’s Traditional Extreme Rules Appearance

9. Sheamus

If there's one thing wrestling fans love it's a good hoss fight. Take two big, powerful guys and let them stiff each other for 15 minutes and you've got an enjoyable match. Sheamus has been spinning his wheels somewhat since his return from injury, engaging in a drawn out feud with Christian that didn't spark much interest. The matches weren't bad, just that few seemed to care. Christian is a great performer and has had an awesome career but he feels a bit beneath Sheamus at this stage. When Sheamus turned face against Mark Henry it was simple, effective booking. Mark Henry beats people up because that's what he does, and Sheamus likes to fight. No complexity needed, let's just punch each other. Sheamus can use this same reasoning to seek a match with Lesnar. He loves a good brawl, and there's no one better to give him that than Brock. A no DQ war between these two at Extreme Rules could be a memorable affair. While his face character can seem hokey at times, Sheamus always brings it between the ropes. He's someone WWE always seems to factor into their future plans. Giving Lesnar all he can handle in a savage scrap could reestablish him as a main event contender.
