WWE: 10 Opponents For Brock Lesnar’s Traditional Extreme Rules Appearance

8. Cesaro

This is one of the more unlikely entries on this list, if only because they've not yet put Cesaro in a position for such a top level match. But for several months he's been getting some of the best reactions on the show while being in a mid-card tag team. That alone speaks volumes of the audience's perception of him. He's gotten over through ring work rather than character, and despite playing a heel, is met with face pops during every appearance. WWE management are said to have high expectations for Cesaro, so there's no reason not to throw him in with a shark right away and force him to swim. With the break-up of The Real Americans expected any time now, rather than let Cesaro get mired down in a feud with a directionless Jack Swagger, have him blow through Swagger immediately, forcing Zeb to turn to Heyman and Brock to seek revenge. The most intriguing aspect of this match is the prospect of seeing Cesaro using his freakish strength to try and manhandle the unmanhandleable. One of the baddest men on the planet being swung around in a circle by his ankles would make for quite the sight. Cesaro should definitely not be beating Brock at this stage in his career, but this is another case where a strong showing in a losing effort would go a long way.
