WWE: 10 Opponents For Brock Lesnar’s Traditional Extreme Rules Appearance
7. Randy Orton
It's hard to think of a world champion who has ever been as poorly booked as Randy Orton. He's gone beyond being the cowardly heel and has been reduced to an incompetent and insecure suck up who relies on the authority far too often. Despite all this he still gets fairly positive reactions from the live crowds. Orton is a performer who by his own admission is far more comfortable as a heel (and lobbied for the turn), but this latest run has been so disastrous it may be time to hit the reboot switch. Orton is likely the odd man out of the post-WrestleMania title picture. Frustrated with being pushed aside by The Authority, he can begin to rebel. A return to his sociopathic babyface character from a few years ago would make a nice foe for Brock. Desperate to prove that he still has what it takes, he calls out the biggest dog in the yard, vowing to do what HHH couldn't. Although he's been accused of being "Blandy Boreton", it's hard to argue that he doesn't bring the goods when the bell rings. A match between he and Lesnar would be a solid encounter and an opportunity for Orton to regain some of the momentum he's lost since winning the title at SummerSlam.
