WWE: 10 Opponents For Brock Lesnar’s Traditional Extreme Rules Appearance

6. Sami Zayn

This is the most outside the box choice of this list. For those who've been following NXT, you know that Zayn, the former masked El Generico has been on a hot streak of great matches. His series with Cesaro yielded two separate Match of the Year candidates and wowed the live audience at Full Sail. Sami has proven that he's more than ready to be called up to the main roster. We know that WWE likes to make a big splash on the Raw after Mania, and introducing a few new performers is a great way to do just that. Run a highlight package of Zayn and have him come out to cut a promo introducing himself. While giving the typical babyface "I'm just happy to be here" speech, Brock's music interrupts. The Beast, still angry from his loss to Undertaker, storms the ring and F5's Sami into oblivion. This sets up a match at Extreme Rules. There would be no reason for Zayn to wrestle before then, and WWE could continue promoting him through video packages. Brock has established a very effective formula. Walk in the ring and punish people from bell to bell. His matches work best when his opponent sells his offense as the most painful thing they've ever experienced. It's part of why his bouts with CM Punk and John Cena were so outstanding. This formula would work wonders in a match with Sami Zayn. Picture the NXT star being tossed around the ring with reckless abandon, Lesnar frothing at the mouth as he pummels him. Throw in enough hope spots for the underdog to make it close, and the fans will get behind the newcomer in a big way. It would be an awesome way for The Likeable One to make an immediate impact.
