10 (Other) Times Women's Wrestling Dominated WWE

2. Stephanie McMahon Wrestles Lita In The Raw Main Event

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M6pSqlUJ8Hw Everything wrong about the barely-trained and seemingly less-than agile Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley as WWF Women's Champion is everything that makes this whole match-as-segment wonderful. Stephanie was the "billion dollar princess" and part of the "McMahon-Helmsley Era" with her storyline husband Triple H, Steph holding the Women's Championship in an era where women's wrestling had evolved to what as then a level of excellence a complete farce. Lita was super-over at this point, and the rub of the company's top star The Rock out there as well is important. As far as the match is concerned, what seems to be everything and everyone but a partridge and a pear tree are involved in order to mask the clear problems with both Lita and Steph being able to pull off a main event match by themselves. The pop for Lita winning in the end is amazing, and solidified the belief that women in wrestling were far more than eye candy. The idea of Steph going from less-than-able women's wrestler in this match to being the catalyst behind the modern women's wrestling "revolution" is nothing short of amazing.
