10 Outdated WWE Tropes That Need To Go Away
3. The Outsider Invasion
Even within the confines of kayfabe there has to be a certain amount of common sense applied to the stories we are being told. WWE is a global corporate powerhouse and they have all the resources in the world to ensure their shows go off without a hitch. Which is why it makes no sense when “outsiders” are able to invade their shows time and time again.
Sometimes it is fired Superstars coming back for revenge against their rivals, other times it’s some renegade faction looking to disrupt the product and make their voices hard. No matter what the story, the logic remains just as nonsensical.
The most hilarious part is that we are actually meant to believe WWE tries to prevent these attacks but fails because of how strong said attackers are. Case in point: Adam Pearce in the RETRIBUTION storyline. Why can’t they just enlist the help of the police? Vince McMahon did it for Stone Cold, Baron Corbin did it for the Shield, even Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey for arrested on Raw for simply having a brawl.
It is stupid, and these days rarely helps the storyline develop in any meaningful way.
