10 Most Outrageous TNA Gimmicks Of All Time

5. Shark Boy

Give me a "Shell yeah!" Shark Boy as a character came to life in late 1997 at a time when wrestling was shifting toward more reality based gimmicks that were easier to believe. Now, a guy dressed as a shark normally would be seen more as cartoonish and be rejected by the majority fans. (As shown by "Earthquake" when he couldn't do anything with a shark gimmick in WCW) In this instance however, the man under the mask wasn't force fed his gimmick, he didn't choose the marine-life it chose him. During his initial run in the indies he became a cult favorite and although it wasn't until 2002 that he finally stepped into a TNA ring, by the time he did he was already a fan favorite. And once fans in TNA got a glimpse of Shark Boy they couldn't get enough! Propelling him to high merchandise sells. Eventually, a kayfabe "coma" a gimmick change toward a Stone Cold infused gimmick which only grew his popularity with the fans and wrestlers alike. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WI37V4Cqesg
