10 Outsiders To Win WWE Royal Rumble 2020 Match

3. Kofi Kingston

Remember when Kofi Kingston reigned as WWE champion for a whopping six months? WWE sure doesn't seem to.

You would never know that Kingston was the face of SmackDown for as long as he was in 2019 based off how he's been booked recently. He and Big E have had a solid run as SmackDown Tag Team champions over the past two months, but WWE moved on from his singles run way too quickly.

Lest we forget, Kingston lost the WWE Championship to Brock Lesnar in a matter of seconds on SmackDown's FOX premiere and never bothered to go back after the belt. Part of that was because Lesnar quickly retreated to Raw soon after becoming champ, but entering the Royal Rumble match would allow him to seek some much-needed vengeance on the one opponent he could never beat.

To assume Kingston could eliminate Lesnar is comical, but it isn't fully out of the realm of possibility. With it being the Rumble, anything can happen, such as Kingston pulling off a miracle and tossing Lesnar out to the floor a la Maven and The Undertaker from 2002.

Better yet, Kingston winning the Rumble would complete his redemption story and serve as a payoff to all the years he's pulled off impressive spots but never survived until the end. If the crowd got behind Kingston the same way they did last year, a rematch against Lesnar at WrestleMania could work.
