The 'Divas' Revolution' has struggled in part due to its half-hearted nature, but also because of the dichotomy between the new wave of competent female wrestlers and the old guard of wholly inept 'Divas'. For every good woman's match since the movement began, there has been an execrable Divas contest that has pushed the division back to where it was.

WrestleMania 32 was the time to finally put it into full gear, as the entire division was rebranded and legitimised thanks to the worthy triple-threat involving Charlotte, Sasha Banks, and Becky Lynch. But the remaining 'Divas' still needed a place on the card; quite rightly, everyone has to get their WrestleMania experience.

Thankfully, sensible heads prevailed and the remaining lot were stuffed into a multi-man match for the pre-show. The unfortunate downside was that despite the presence of competent workers Natalya, Paige, Emma, and Naomi, the involvement of the Bellas, Eva Marie, and outright rookie Lana meant the match was likely to be totally insufferable.

Amazingly, it wasn't. Though no-one of sound mind would ever describe the contest as 'good', it was perfectly acceptable. Lana's ring-time was limited, Eva Marie surpassed all expectations with some solid grappling, and if nothing else, the outfits and hairstyles were beautiful. Of all the matches to benefit from low-expectations, this was not the expected one.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
