Poor Miz. Despite winning the WWE Championship in November 2010 and earning a groundswell of support as one of the most entertaining young stars on the roster, he did not belong anywhere near the WrestleMania XXVII main event. He was not ready for that spot at that time. He had not become the performer that he is today, and he looked completely out of place sharing the ring with John Cena and The Rock every week. And therein lies the biggest damning factor of the 2011 main event. The Rock and Cena's very real animosity captured the attention of fans and had them begging to see the two industry icons square off against each other. Their promos were intensely personal, with each Superstar taking the other to task with one-liners or harsh criticisms. And over there, in the corner, was The Miz, completely overshadowed. By the time WWE tried to do something about it, there was no killing the apathy that had developed over him and Cena doing battle over the WWE Championship, rather than The Rock laying the smackdown on wrestling's franchise star. It was an unenviable position for Miz to be in and one that he never really recovered from. The match headlined WrestleMania and the fans sat silently throughout, proof of their disinterest in it. They, instead, watched with great anticipation for The Rock to get involved, which he did, setting up the following year's main event with Cena, a much more interesting and electrifying main event. And one you will never find on this list or any like it.
