10. Triple H Vs. Randy Orton - WrestleMania XXV
For the majority of their careers, Triple H and Randy Orton had been the bridesmaids, never the brides. They were two wrestlers who always thrived in scenarios where they were the supporting actor, with a bigger star to work off of. That may not be a popular assessment but sometimes, the truth hurts. Ahead of WrestleMania XXV, their main event match looked completely lackluster, a bout between two guys who were not nearly interesting enough to carry the weight of that spot on the card. So evident was it that fans had not bought into the program that WWE Creative devised a story in which Orton claimed to have a disorder that made him prone to bursts of violence. Then he took out the whole McMahon clan, including Stephanie. Because, if 2016 is telling us anything, it is that inserting McMahons into ice cold programs is WWE's go-to move of certain despair. It was a program that never made much sense and never really got fans invested in either of the performers. Doubt that assertion? Go ahead re-watch their match from WrestleMania and listen to the crowd. Sure, the match was hampered by the stupid stipulations placed on it prior to the event but those fans could not muster even the slightest bit of excitement for a match starring two wrestlers who, at their hearts, were heels. Other than fan disdain for his rise up the card, at least Reigns is a likable hero.
