10 Pay-Per-Views WWE Must Bring Back For Brand Split 2016
6. Bragging Rights
Yes, I did just place Bragging Rights ahead of Starrcade, but just hear me out before you cattle prod me! Okay, so the execution of Bragging Rights was pretty much always terrible, but there is a good idea in there somewhere. It just needs to be found.
If WWE is serious about the brand split this time around, they should keep the rosters split-up at all costs in order for it to be a success. But, of course, the wrestlers do have to meet up at some point, so they can potentially make some big money off of a host of fresh feuds and a developing brand loyalty.
Next to WrestleMania, Bragging Rights should be the only other time of the year where you’ll see Raw and SmackDown wrestlers fight each other. Don’t just leave it to one tag match either, book it more like The Invasion pay-per-view, where the score for the entire night is kept track of. Have the wrestlers who lose really take it personally after their matches, because they let their team down. Keep the results of the show at the forefront of both television shows the following week. Make it crystal clear that the talent respect, and love the brand they are on.
Each GM would lead the men and women of their show into battle, and choose the ones they feel can help them earn the the title of best brand. Weeks before Bragging Rights, we’ll see the owners plotting out teams and strategies backstage, and witness them mocking their weak competition. When the battle lines are drawn, even the fans will hopefully be split, showing loyalty for their own team.
Yeah, and uh...maybe get rid of the Bragging Rights name too. Same sort of idea. New name.
