Ring of Honor alumnus and former NWA Champion "Scrap Iron" Adam Pearce isn't just an accomplished and talented independent wrestler, he also knows the business from a behind-the-scenes standpoint: for two years, he was head booker for Ring of Honor, guiding the company through the departures of Daniel Bryan and Nigel McGuinness and the genesis of its first weekly TV show. After departing Ring of Honor in 2010, Pearce continued to compete on the indies, engaging in a blood feud with Colt Cabana over the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. After five reigns with the title, Pearce announced his retirement from active competition. Still "Scrap Iron" had other opportunities. He made several appearances as a guest trainer at WWE's Performance Center in 2014, then helped work as a producer on the NXT TakeOver: R Evolution show. In 2015, he was signed to a full-time job as a trainer, and he continues to work in that role today.
