2. John Cena

As John Cena descends into a part-time role in the WWE, logic dictates that he should start to put over new talent who are on the way up. There's not a chance in hell of this really happening, of course, but it's logical. If WWE really want to create a star out of Tye Dillinger, there's no better way to do it than giving him a shock win over Big Match John himself.

It might surprise some to know that Cena and Dillinger actually have history. In a one-time sojourn down to developmental FCW in May of 2008, Cena was giving a promo when Dillinger (then a heel by the name of Gavin Spears) came out to interrupt him. The two exchanged some entertaining barbs and pre-match tension before Cena predictably proceeded to put his opposition away in less time than it would have taken him to tie his shoelaces. Not exactly befitting of a man who calls himself The Perfect Ten.

There's potentially an entire story to be spun out of this small encounter. Dillinger might still be burning with resentment about being humiliated in such a way and turn heel on The Doctor Of Thuganomics, but a scenario more in keeping with the character that got him over would be for Dillinger to boldly call Cena out, looking to prove himself and how much he's improved over the last 9 years. Letting Dillinger go over would be beneficial to Cena too, allowing him to keep fostering the goodwill of the more hardcore fanbase that he's slowly starting to win over. The long-term benefits of a clean singles win over Cena don't really need to be stated, and while it's not a guaranteed way to stay at the top of the card, there aren't really many better first steps.
