10 PG Wrestling Feuds That Felt Like The Attitude Era
8. Edge vs. The Undertaker
While 2008 was the year that WWE went PG, it also hosted two of the greatest rivalries in the last decade. The phenomenal feud between Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels usually takes presidence because of its placement on Raw, but nothing should be taken away from the equally awesome rivalry between Edge and The Undertaker. The seeds were first planted when Edge cashed in his Money in the Bank contract on Undertaker to win the World Heavyweight Championship in May 2007. Though not apparent they were on a collision course for WrestleMania 24, it was seemingly set in stone to happen when Edge returned at Survivor Series to cost The Deadman the prestigious prize. At 'Mania, they contested a great match in the main event that was won by 'Taker, but that was merely the beginning. The key to successful storyline in wrestling is long term booking, and as chaotic as the Attitude Era was, there was long term planning in place. That's something that's desperately lacking nowadays, but in the rare instance of a feud such as Edge vs. 'Taker, they execute it to perfection. Stone Cold Steve Austin's rise to glory didn't occur overnight; it was a long, carefully planned out journey, and so was Undertaker getting his vengeance against Edge.
