10 Popular WWE Babyfaces Who Went To Another Level As Heels

Right, enough of the 90s for a bit.

Bayley was treading water big time before turning heel in late-2019. She was popular, but fans had long-since tired of the one-note 'girl next door' gimmick, and WWE blatantly didn't know what else to do with her on TV. Besides, the smiling face routine looked lame next to progressively in-your-face characters like 'The Man' Becky Lynch.

Something had to change, and Bayley knew it. So, she ditched the side pony, the high-fiving, the hugs, the inflatable tube man entrance and the goofy music for SmackDown's new start on FOX. All of those innocent elements were replaced by a new, more serious persona that slowly-but-surely found its feet.

The new and improved Bayley went on to enjoy a 380-day reign as SmackDown Women's Champ. In 2020, she and then-bud Sasha Banks also ran roughshod over the female ranks and became two of the most must-see stars on WWE's entire roster.
