10 Positives Heading Into WWE Clash Of Champions
9. Layers To The Main Event Scene
Sticking with that Rollins vs. Owens main event scene, and I think another positive is that we’ve been given is the backstory beneath the show’s headlining feud which has been anything but straightforward.
It all stemmed from Triple H’s surprise appearance a few weeks back, when he seemingly turned his back on Rollins and literally handed Owens the WWE Universal Championship, leaving us with our fair share of unanswered questions.
Are Triple H and Steph in cahoots? Will we now be seeing the long-awaited Triple H vs. Rollins encounter? And how does the Game fit into Raw’s new management structure with Steph as Commissioner and Mick Foley as General Manager?
Right now we can’t provide any definitive answers, and I get that some may see that as a negative; a case of the writers simply failing to tie-up a number of loose ends. But from a less cynical perspective, this adds to the complexity of the backstory in an already compelling main event feud. It brings an extra layer of intrigue that keeps us guessing and maintains our interest in the show, while it also has us speculating about all kinds of possibilities moving into the future.
And as Diamond Dallas Page would once have told you; that’s not a bad thing, that’s a good thing!
