10 Positives Heading Into WWE Clash Of Champions
4. Nia Jax Moving On From Jobbers
Since her call-up to the main roster in this year’s WWE Draft, Nia Jax has spent most of her time tearing through an array of indie jobbers. Or “local athletes” as the correct term seems to be.
In a way, that’s all well and good for the time being. It tells those fans not familiar with NXT that she really is a force to be reckoned with (although her domineering presence is arguably enough to achieve that on its own), while it also gives her an easier transition to the pressures of the main roster spotlight, rather than having her go out and compete in lengthier matches week after week.
But this couldn’t last forever. Jobber matches can get really old really quick, which is why it’s great to see Nia finally progressing to a more established opponent in the form of Alicia Fox.
The two were involved in a backstage altercation a couple of weeks back, and now find themselves destined for a one-on-one meeting at Clash of Champions on Sunday.
Now, that match may not quite go down as one of the highlights of the whole night, but this is still a step in the right direction for Nia Jax and her character.
