10 Potential Opponents For A Goldberg Return At WrestleMania 32

9. Sting

Like the proposed Ryback feud, this match wouldn't require too detailed a backstory: two former WCW icons reunited in WWE, both desperate to prove themselves as the top dog one last time. With both Sting and Goldberg performing as babyfaces for the majority of their respective careers, this could be kept a straightforward, respectful encounter between legends. Alternatively, WWE could give Goldberg's ruthlessness a darker edge, generating sympathy for the more naturally heroic Sting. The main issue here is safety. Sting suffered a scary injury when facing Seth Rollins at Night Of Champions, and there's no guarantee he'd be fighting fit by WrestleMania 32. There's not even a guarantee that he'd even want to be fighting fit by then, and at 56 and with an untouchable legacy under his belt, who could blame him? Add Goldberg's inevitable ring rust into the mix, and the fact that he's no spring chicken either at 48, and the match seems too big a gamble to realistically consider. Would WWE take that risk for the sake of an undoubted spectacle? It's a possibility, yes, but not a likelihood.
