10 Potential Wrestling Rematches Fans Should Be Excited For

5. CM Punk Vs. Bryan Danielson

CM Punk and The American Dragon first met one-on-one back in 2004 for Ring of Honor. Since then, they have faced off nine more times, including their brilliant series of matches for the WWE Championship back in 2012. The unfortunate thing about their previous matchups in WWE, is that the focal point of their time in the ring together was not about these two men being the best wrestlers in the world. Instead, both men found themselves in the middle of a love triangle with AJ Lee.

In a fact that seemed nearly impossible a short time ago, both stars now find themselves employed by the same company once again; that being All Elite Wrestling. Arriving in AEW last year, Punk and Danielson have spent their time in Tony Khan's company having stellar matches with everyone they step in the ring with. In a move that seems intentional, the two former WWE Champions have been kept away from one another, never crossing paths on camera either in the ring or backstage.

If there is any justice in the world, that is because AEW plans on eventually having CM Punk and Bryan square off at least one more time. Whether it be a one-off match on Dynamite, or hopefully a more drawn out story, if and when the two longtime veterans do lock up, it could be once again a match for the ages.
