10 Potential Wrestling Rematches Fans Should Be Excited For
6. Kenny Omega Vs. Kota Ibushi
There is no doubt that Kenny Omega is one of, if not the best wrestler on the planet today. His résumé in New Japan and All Elite Wrestling is unmatched, more than earning him the moniker The Best Bout Machine. Before The Cleaner left AEW television to rehab from his various injuries, you would be hard pressed to find a match in which the announcers did not mention that only one man has kicked out of his finisher, the One Winged Angel.
Back in 2012, while the two Golden Lovers were in DDT, Kota Ibushi became the first man to kick out of the move, something that has not been done in the following ten years. After years apart, Kenny and Kota would face off for the first time in six years, during the G1 Climax Tournament, with Ibushi once again coming out on top. Throughout Kenny's storied career, he has beaten all of the biggest names in the sport, with Ibushi being the one name he is yet to defeat.
The Golden Lovers have spent the previous three years apart, with Omega being a founding member of All Elite Wrestling while Kota stayed behind in New Japan. With the latter's public falling out with the Japanese company recently, he will likely be looking for a new place to show off his skills.
If that is the case, signing with AEW and locking up once again with his friend should be at the top of his to do list. If not, there's always the possibility of the stars alligning for the Forbidden Door PPV...
