Austin turned down matches with Hogan before WrestleMania XVIII and XXII because he didn't think the resulting bout would have been something of which he could be proud, and because he had no interest in dealing with Hogan's politicking. Today, Hogan may be less likely to be able to connive his way to a win, but a match between a 50-year-old and a 61-year-old isn't winning any awards from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Hogan may not even be able to compete -- he was initially banned from any action in a WWE ring after his physical, but he claims to be in better shape and has guaranteed more matches in his future.
