10 Potential WWE WrestleMania 31 Opponents For Stone Cold Steve Austin
3. Dean Ambrose
For all the hype regarding whom WWE's next big star will be -- and there's certainly an impressive field vying for the honor -- perhaps no talent has proven himself as original and entertaining as Dean Ambrose. Each week on Raw, Ambrose is blazing his own trail as a hot young antihero, refusing to let anyone else -- heel or babyface -- stand in his way as he fights for himself, his back against the wall. Sound familiar? As surely as Roman Reigns is the next Rock, Dean Ambrose is the next Stone Cold Steve Austin. Just because he's on the verge of erupting, though, doesn't mean that his path to stardom has to look exactly like Stone Cold's. Imagine a scenario like the one laid out in entry six... then imagine that Dean Ambrose viciously turns on Austin the following week, walloping him with a chair and joining The Authority, a la Seth Rollins. In one fell swoop, Ambrose would become the most hated man in WWE by leaps and bounds. The match would be amazing -- both men are similar enough (and smart enough) to really play off one another well. Ambrose may get knocked through the ropes, but would rebound with his legs and come back with a lariat. Austin, of course, would duck the maneuver, hit the ropes, and retort with a Thesz Press. It would be clear before long that "The Texas Rattlesnake" and "The Lunatic Fringe" have each other well-scouted, and the loser would be the man who slipped up first.
