The Man vs. The Queen of Spades? Shut up and take my money!

That was the thoughts on everyone's minds when the feud was teased between two of the best women in the company who had yet to cross paths before Survivor Series. The stage was set, Baszler wins the Rumble and storms into WrestleMania to have a show stealer with Lynch and begin a long-dominant reign as Raw Women's Champion. Except Charlotte Flair won the Rumble because of course she did. But don't worry, Baszler still showed up to confront Lynch soon enough. However, instead of absolutely batting her, she ... bit her neck?

The build towards this momentous match also lacked the fire that it should have had. The sit-down interviews fell flat and so did the promos. Fans, however, still hoped for a highly intense contest that made up for the poor build. Instead, we got a short affair that never really got going before an awkward-looking rollup won the match for Lynch. What a letdown: two years running had a match of the year candidate from Lynch at WrestleMania been ruined by a botchy rollup.

Knowing what we know now - that being that Lynch was pregnant at the time - explains why it was such a safe match and I think every fan agrees that they'd rather a bad match than put Lynch's unborn child at risk. Hopefully, the two get another chance to show what they've got when Lynch returns in a couple of years.
