10 Potentially Awesome WWE Feuds Which Failed To Deliver
5. AJ Styles Vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
When Shinsuke Nakamura and AJ Styles ended up on SmackDown in late 2017, fans went crazy at the thought that the two would inevitably cross paths. Then Nakamura spectacularly won the Royal Rumble and it was on. The dream match of all dream matches, Nakamura vs. Styles for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania. It was enough to make any hardcore wrestling fan faint.
The match itself wasn't horrible, but in reality, it was always going to be a letdown due to the astronomical expectations that had been placed on it after their five-star affair from Wrestle Kingdom 10. After this, all the feud contained was a whole lot of kicks in the d*ick. Literally. The entire feud was based around the fact that Nakamura now enjoyed to abuse Styles' special area with a myriad of uppercuts and kicks.
Why? One can assume that it was because Vince McMahon found it amusing.
Nonetheless, the whole thing reeked and got worse and worse the longer it went on and boy did it go long. Stretching four straight pay per views, fans got tired of the feud quick and Nakamura had gone from one of the most over talents on the roster to the one of the blandest in six short months. Hopefully the two get another chance to redeem themselves with a feud over Styles' newly won Intercontinental Championship.
