The surest thing in wrestling? At this point, it would be more astounding if Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn managed to have a bad match. A solid argument could be made that Owens and Zayn have the best chemistry in the entire history of professional wrestling. That’s how good these guys are together.

They’ve had countless matches together in WWE over the years, and their Last Man Standing bout on the July 2 episode of SmackDown was another classic to add to the DVD. Owens and Zayn beat the absolute tar out of each in front of the TV audience, somehow managing to add new flourishes to a rivalry that is more than a decade old at this point. Owens picked up the win and qualified for the Money in the Bank ladder match in the process.

Did it deserve to be on a pay-per-view? Absolutely, but there’s no such thing as a bad time to see Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn. They should be WWE’s ultimate failsafe. If a show has run off the rails, shove Owens and Zayn out, give them 10 minutes and everything will be okay in the WWE world. Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn is guaranteed excellence, and their July SmackDown match was no different.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man.
