At least he bloody got one.

Steve Austin, meanwhile, never really came close to capturing WCW's World Title before being scrapped in June 1995. Most wrestling fans couldn't name Austin's final match for the company if they tried, and with good reason: Steve beat jobber Eddie Jackie on the 21 May '95 edition of Main Event.

The match lasted one minute. One minute. Sure, it was a squash, but this said everything about Austin's standing in the promotion by 1995. Even he looked totally bemused by his role post-match (which you can see in that screenshot above).

Austin reportedly walked out instead of doing a job to The Renegade at subsequent Worldwide tapings shortly thereafter, then Eric Bischoff fired him when he was rehabbing an injury. The rest, as they say, is history. As 'Stone Cold', Steve went on to become the biggest star in the biz.
