10 Precise Moments When WCW Careers Ended

3. Bret Hart

Bret Hart's fiery promo on the 6 September 2000 edition of Thunder is worth going out of your way to see. He teamed up with old nWo 2000 (remember that?!) pal Scott Steiner to prep both Scotty and Goldberg for their upcoming clash at Fall Brawl.

The crux of Bret's speech was that he was still p*ssed at Bill for ending his in-ring career at Starrcade 1999 the previous year. This, as it turned out, wasn't some bold reinvention of the 'Hitman' as a manager. Instead, he cut one final promo and then never appeared on WCW television again.

Management terminated Hart's contract via FedEx on 20 October. The guy who was supposed to be another piece of the puzzle that'd destroy the WWF forever had a spotty three-year run, then got booted in the noggin and was forced to hang up the tights.

Longtime Bret fans will enjoy the Thunder promo if they haven't seen it before though.
