Lance Cade's WWE career will forever be considered one of those 'what could've been' scenarios. At one stage, it looked for certain like Shawn Michaels' student would become a big deal in the promotion, but poor personal choices and awful addiction issues would cost him his career and his life.

Cade's final showing on TV came against HBK himself on the 6 October 2008 Raw. Lance was linked with Shawn-hater Chris Jericho on-screen, and he was hastily deployed by 'Y2J' to beat the snot out of Michaels in a 'No DQ' effort on the flagship show.

Shawn kicked Cade's head in with ease, smashed him with a steel chair and then left with trademark gusto. After that, big Lance wrestled two more house show matches with D-Lo Brown and was quickly released following a mysterious seizure incident on a flight between bookings.

WWE didn't forgive this regrettable moment, and that was a wrap for Cade's company career.
